Access Herbicide

Tips For Use

Restraints:

• Do not add water to Access Herbicide.
• Do not apply to weeds that are stressed (not actively growing) due to extreme cold, drought, waterlogging, disease, poor nutrition, or prior herbicide treatment. Reduced control may result.
• Do not apply to charcoal-coated or wet stems. This repels the diesel mixture.
• Do not treat dormant species (e.g. Australian blackthorn, camphor laurel, sweet briar) during winter.

Mixing Instructions:

• Quarter-fill the spray unit with diesel, then add the required volume of Access.
• Top up with remaining diesel and agitate thoroughly.
• Mix only the sufficient chemical for each day’s use.

Compatibility:

• Access is compatible with diesel and Biosafe only.
• Do not mix with any other chemicals.
• For alternative biodiesel products, seek advice from Dow AgroSciences prior to use.

General Application Instructions:

• Use hand-directed equipment only (e.g. pneumatic sprayer) at low pressure up to 200 kPa.
• Use sprayers with Viton seals to prevent damage from the diesel carrier.
• Wet all stems on multi-stemmed varieties. No stem should be missed, or regrowth will occur.
• For rough-barked species, apply more thoroughly than smooth-barked species.
• Delay treatment of bulldozed or ploughed regrowth until plants reach at least 1 metre height.

Protection of Crops, Native and Other Non-Target Plants:

• Treat target weeds only. Do not allow the mixture to contact non-target species.
• Legumes, vines, vegetables, cotton, tomatoes, ornamentals, conifers, and many broadleaf plants are highly susceptible during both growing and dormant periods.
• Picloram can persist in the soil for extended periods. Do NOT move sprayed soil to areas where desirable plants are grown.
• Do not apply where surface runoff may reach susceptible crops or plants.
• Use of Access on native vegetation must comply with relevant state and local legislation.

Protection of Livestock, Wildlife, Fish, Crustaceans and the Environment:

• Do not contaminate streams, rivers, or waterways with the chemical or used containers.
• Alongside waterways, treat noxious weeds and poisonous plants only.

Resistant Weeds Warning:

• Access Herbicide is a Group I Herbicide (Pyridines). Repeated use may allow resistant biotypes to dominate. Contact your agronomist or local Corteva representative for resistance management strategies.

Storage:

• Store in the original closed container in a cool, well-ventilated area.
• Do not store in direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
• Do not store near food, feedstuffs, fertilisers, or seed.
• Store locked up. Combustible liquid. Keep away from flames and hot surfaces.

Safety Directions:

• Harmful if swallowed. Irritates eyes, nose, throat, and skin. Repeated exposure may cause allergic disorders.
• Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Avoid inhaling vapour or spray mist.
• Wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrists, a washable hat, elbow-length neoprene gloves, and a face shield or goggles when opening, mixing, and applying.
• Wash hands, arms, and face with soap and water after use and before eating, drinking, or smoking.
• Wash gloves, face shield or goggles, and contaminated clothing after each day’s use.
• It may be fatal if swallowed and enters the airways. Do not induce vomiting.
